That is 5 various messenger accounts all working in Jitsi at onetime. I have 2 Gmail accounts (Google Hangouts) in this, and an xmpp account as well. I have free SIP accounts on Linphone and Ekiga that I can use in Jitsi, although I can use their really nice programs as well. + 1 for Jitsi (also uses webRTC), which can connect securely to various messenger hosts all at onetime, like Google, xmpp (jabber), Sip, Yahoo, Aol (Aim), etc. Which Linux Mint are you using, Debian based or Ubuntu based, 32 or 64 bit? I just read your post and the good replies to it. At least for a little while, which is all I need. I'm luckily (or unluckily) in the States right now, and my contact is also in the States, so I found that Google Hangouts just might work too. There's enough FUD about it that some of it might be true. Maybe I'm better off not having Skype on this system.

I had it installed-and it was inside of Skype's versioning requirement-but skype didn't seem to want to cooperate. I looked back through my history: libqtwebkit4:i386 was the package that skype was fussing about.
